最近本当に寒いですよね🥶
今朝なんか、起きて外を見ると周りの家の屋根が全て雪で白くなっていました😲
まったく1週間前にニュースで言っていた暖冬なんて信じられませんね😵
さぁ今回はTOEFLテストの結果について書いていきましょうか！
前回、テスト勉強の段階ですら散々だったので結果はどうだったのでしょうか！？
今回はそれを見ていきましょう👍
テストを受ける当日の話は、勿論大切なんですがその前に話さないといけないことがあります！
それは受験料の話です💸
皆さん、大学生ならTOEICを受けたことがあると思います
TOEICの受験料って大体5,000円くらいでそこまで高くないんですね😌
一方でTOEFL iBTっていくらか想像つきますか🤔
なんとですね、大体25,000円くらいするんですね💀
なので、1回受験するだけでも結構なプレッシャーになるんですよこれが😰
お財布が空になる前に、絶対に一回で留学に必要なスコアを取る必要がありました🤣
ここまでがテストを受ける以前の話です
ここからはテストを受ける日の事を話しますね！
まずテストが開催された場所は、小さな雑居ビルの一室でした😲
(バカ高い受験料払ってるんだから、もっといいテストセンターを押さえて欲しかったです😩)
パスポートを使って身分証明を終えた後、20台くらいのパソコンとイスがある部屋に案内されました
マイク付きのヘッドセットを着用して、テストがスタートしました
リーディングとライティングの部分は、事前練習のおかげで特に問題なく解くことが出来ました👍
問題はリスニングとスピーキングです.....
まず苦手なリスニングからでした
知ってはしていたんですが、アメリカ英語だけで無くイギリスや色々な国の英語が出てきたので結構焦りました
ただこの日のために、映画やYouTubeで色んな国の人の動画を見て、独特のアクセントを勉強しました！
筋トレが趣味なので、海外の有名ボディービルダーの解説動画を見ました💪
やっぱり、自分の好きなことで楽しく勉強するのがモチベーションを維持しながら、効率的に勉強することを実感しました
分からないなりに、拾える単語をかいつまんで何を話しているか理解できたので、なんとかリスニングは耐えました😌
次はスピーキングです
説明していませんでしたが、TOEFL iBTのリスニングでは独特な質問が出るんです
例えば「あなたの好きな有名人は誰ですか？それはなぜですか？」や「最近読んだ本の中で一番おもしろと思ったのは？なぜ？」のように他愛も無いことを聞くんです😂
まぁ話しやすいと言えば聞こえは良いですが、本当に普段していないことについても聞かれるので一番不確実性が高かった部分です😟
ただ僕も準備していないわけでは無かったんです！
ふとした空き時間に、小声で"My favorite person is ....."みたいな感じで、一人でずっと練習していました（今考えると、少し不気味ですが笑）
ただ、これが効果抜群でした！
一人でぶつぶつ言っていたことが何個かテストに出たんです😲
仮に問題として出なくても、文法ミスや発音間違いなどは以前より格段に減っていました！
そのおかげもあり、自分なりに満足のいくレベルのスピーキングが出来ました👍
総評としては、自分の満足できる結果を出すことが出来ました！
地道な努力が大きな結果に結びついた経験だったと思います！
点数としては70/120を取ることが出来ました！
イメージが難しいと思いますが、アメリカへの交換留学には十分なスコアだったので大満足でした！

今回はTOEFL iBtについて書きました！
地道で少し気持ち悪い勉強方法ではありましたが、こんな小さな事でも英語学習においては意外と大切なんですよ！
次は、このテストの結果を基にどの大学に行くかを決めるフェーズです！

When I woke up and looked outside, roofs near my house were covered by snow this morning😲
I can't trust the weather forecast a week ago said "This winter is much warmer than usual haha"😵
Anyway, let's talk about the result of TOEFL iBt !
How the result would be even though I performed so bad on the trial test!?
Let's dive in!!
Of course, the day I took the test is really important.
But there is one thing I need to talk about!
It's the money to take a test💸
I think some of you have taken TOEIC, haven't you?
That test costs around $50, which is not that expensive😌
So, can you imagine how much did it cost to take TOEFL iBT🤔
It was as much as $250💀
So it made me feel like there's no more chance to take this test again😰
Before I get an empty thin wallet, I had to get the score high enough to be able to study abroad to America at the first shot🤣
This is the story before taking a test
From now on, I'll talk about the day I took a test!
Firstly, the test took place in a small room in an old building😲
(At least, I wanted them to hold a test at a better place where deserves for $250😩)
After the ID check with a passport, they navigated me to a small room full of computers
Wore a headset and the test started
I could manage Reading and Writing thanks to the textbook I used 👍
The most challenging parts are Listening and Speaking.....
Listening came ahead of Speaking
I got kind of upset even though I knew that several accents would be in the test
But for this section, I watched videos by foreign bodybuilders on YouTube 💪
This mean is really useful in terms of keeping your motivation high and stay effective
Even if I can't understand the whole sentence, I picked up some words and tried to understand the entire sentence and survived😌
Next is Speaking!
I didn't mention the speaking test on TOEFL
Speaking session on TOEFL is full of unique questions, like "Who's your favorite sports player in the world and why?", "Which book was the most interesting recently. Briefly explain the book and why you liked it" 😂
I mean questions are really easy, but I wasn't sure what they are going to ask actually, so uncertainty made me feel kind of nervous😟
But I was ready for that!
When I'm free and alone, I spoke English quietly like "My favorite sports player is ...." over and over (I'm sure I looked so weird from others haha)
However, this really worked for me!
Some questions I used to practice speaking English were in a test actually😲
Even if practice sentences didn't appear in a test, the solo speaking practice helped me decreasing grammatical and pronounce mistakes!
Thanks to that, I could do well in the speaking session👍
I was satisfied with my performance on the test!
Keep doing small things has made it possible to get a big dream come true!
I could take 70/120 on a test!
This score isn't clear for you, so to explain, this score is high enough to study abroad to most of the American colleges for a year!
I was pretty satisfied with it!

The way I practiced speaking English might sound weird, but you gotta keep working on it like that is really important when it comes to learning English
