今回は予告通り早く更新することが出来ました！🎉
年末で帰省していて家でやることがないので更新頻度を上げることが出来ています🤣
学校がないと自分の好きなことに熱中できるから思う存分好きなことをしています😜
さぁ前回は学生団体での活動を話しましたね！

前回は楽しかった側面と英語の勉強方法について書きましたが今回は団体でどんなことをしてそこから学んだことについて話したいと思います👍
僕はこの団体の中で２つの役割を担当していました
イベントでの通訳と広報を担当していました
それぞれどんなことをしていたのかと学んだことを話しますね👍
まず団体のメイン活動としては２つ有りました
お昼休みと放課後の日本人学生と留学生の交流会をしていました
その中で僕は日本人学生と外国人留学生との通訳をしていました
通訳をしていた理由としては、日本人や留学生が円滑なコミュニケーションを手助けすることでイベントの満足度を高めようと思って自ら志願してやりました✋
実際にイベントは週に3~5回ほど開催していたのですが、多くの日本人学生が「留学生と交流したいが英語に不安があるから参加するのはためらってしまう」ということを良く聞いていました😵
自分はそれってすごい機会損失だなと思っていてそれを少しでもなくしたいと思いました
なぜならせっかく英語や海外に興味を持ってくれているのに「英語が不安だから参加しない」ってすごくチャンスを無駄にしてしまっているなと思いました😞
せっかく誰かがなにかに挑戦しようとしているのに些細なことがきっかけで諦めて欲しくないという思いから通訳をしようと決断しました
その機会損失をなくすために自分が通訳として立候補して活動していました
イベントの中で通訳として日本語と英語の翻訳をしたときに日本人学生や留学生が楽しそうに会話を楽しんでいるのを見て「この役割を引き受けてよかったな～」と心から思いました😊
もっと多くの人に「英語の楽しさ」を広げることに貢献できたのかなと思います
この活動を通して気づいたことが「自分の強みを活用して他の人にプラスの影響を与えられる」ということが自分の価値観なんだなと気づきました🙂
結局、人が幸福感や満足感を覚える瞬間というのは「自分の強みを生かして何か出来ること」や「他の人への貢献や彼らからの感謝」なんだなと思いました
振り返れば自分が今までしてきたことも自分の強みから派生したことや未知のことでも他人のためになるものをやってきたんだなと気づきました😲
このブログも自分が色々な経験を通して学んだことを皆さんと共有することで少しでも人生の足しになれば良いな、という思いでやっています
次は広報です！
これは大変でした😅
参加した当初、イベントの参加人数は日本人と留学生を合わせて１０～１５人でした
団体の思いとしては倍の人数に参加してもらいたいと思っていました
そのため宣伝活動に注力することになり、僕もその宣伝メンバーとして活動しました
団体の中ではSNSで宣伝する方法と実際に話して勧誘するのか、どっちがいいのかということを話し合いました
結果としては実際に話して勧誘するというアナログな方法で宣伝することにしました
その理由として、せっかくイベントに参加するならワクワクして参加して欲しい、という思いから一人一人にしっかりと説明した上で来て欲しいという思いがありました
確かにSNSだと多くの人にリーチすることが出来ますが、ほんの数十秒の動画と文字だけでどれだけの人の心が動くのか、という疑問を抱いたという理由もあります
ただアナログな方法だったのでとにかく多くの人に会わないといけなかったのは大変でし😅
ただ目標を達成するために「どのようにイベントを宣伝するか」、「どれくらいの人に声をかけるか」、「どこで宣伝するか」など自分で考えてPDCAを回せたのはその後にも非常にプラスになりました😆
＊PDCA＝Plan Do Check Actionの略。計画し、実行、結果をチェックする、改善するというもの
この経験を通して「SNSのような媒体での広告でも良いが、実際に人と会って話すことでしか伝わらないものもあるな」というコミュニケーションの大切さと楽しさを学べたのは良い経験でした👍

As I said before, I could update the post quickly!🎉
Since it's the end of the year and now I stay at my parents' house, I can post more frequently🤣
Without the college, I can put all my energy into whatever I wanna do😜
Well, I talked about the activities in the student group!
If you haven't read it, go and check it right now!
Last time, I talked about the fun activities and how to study English.
This time, I will talk about tough works and what I learned from that.
I was in charge of two positions in that organization!
A translator in events and promotion of the group.
Let me start talking about my learning there.
The group holds two kinds of events every week
The talking sessions at lunchtime and after school.
I raised my hand to be a translator to help both Japanse and foreign students talking to each other smoothly so that both of them get satisfied well enough to come again✋
We held the events three to five times per week, but I heard so many Japanese students saying that "I worry about my English skill to communicate with foreigners..."😵
I thought it's a great loss of the chance and wanted to keep it from happening as much as possible.
Because it's really a pity to see people give up interacting with foreigners even though they are interested in learning English and improve it just because they can't speak well enough.😞
I wanted to support those who are about giving up to challenge something due to the small reason even though they wanna do it so badly.
This is the reason why I got a position as a translator.
I felt all my effort paid whenever I saw Japanese students enjoy talking with foreign students with my support and true laugh on their face.
I always thought "This is why I am here and wanna keep doing this more and more"😊
I personally think I could make a contribution to make English a more casual and fun thing for Japanese students!
Through those activities, I realized that "Making use of my strength and give any positive influence or contribution to them" is my value.🙂
Ultimately, providing happiness to others with something you are good at is the value of the people I felt
To review whatever I did, everything, even it's something completely new to me, was based on my that value surprisingly😲
This blog is the same.
I write this blog to share lessons I learned in my life and hope they will work in a positive way for readers of this blog
Next is the promotion of the organization!
That was really challenging for me😅
When I joined that group, 10~15 Japanese and exchange students joined in each event.
But as an organization, we wanted to double the number!
Therefore we decided to put more time on promotion and I was also there
When it comes to promoting the group, there were two ideas about how to do it, use social media or talking to exchange students randomly and explain what the event is like.
As a result of an argument, we came to a conclusion to use the latter idea!
Because we wanted participants to be motivated before joining events, so we had to explain the detail more.
Of course, with social media, you can reach more people than analog ways, but we thought how much information can we deliver to watchers with texts and videos in 10 sec or so.
Even though we decided to do a traditional way to invite people to events and conducted it, it was still tough because I had to meet as many people as possible😅
Even though it was tough, I thought about "How should I tell the contents of the events?", "How many people should I talk to?", "where should I promote?" and so on.
I kept running PDCA all the time and worked hard to make it as efficient as possible, which became a really useful experience😆
*PDCA --> Plan, Do, See, Action. The method to do something better and better.
It was a nice experience because I could learn that using social media will allow me to reach many people but will not deliver the information we want and motivate watchers.
Also learned how fun and important it is to communicate with people 👍
